I first heard this song when I was at my first teenage party. It was the ‘B’ side of a Stevie Wonder record; it was called ‘Angie Girl’. I was never a fan of his music, I preferred Rock, namely Led Zeppelin, Free, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Supertramp and others. The song, about a boy declaring his love for a girl, just caught me in the moment with the atmosphere and the excitement of the party, which was being held by classmate Johnny Murray, in one of those posh houses on Townhead Road.
